I am not too sure what to write about yet because I don't have that much information, but I have put a book on reserve to get out from Penrith library!!!!!!!!
Anyways Keith Windshuttle appears to have a lot to say about the treatment of Aboriginal women by their husbands and I know I have read about this somewhere else but I am not to sure who it was by! but it was very interesting and I wouldn't mind concentrating on it or should I concentrate on his whole works????
Hi Beth
ReplyDeleteAsk yourself why he has so much to say on this subject. Is it because he cares? Thinks it interesting? Is judging Aboriginal men? Is judging Aboriginal culture? Desensitizing the reader to massacre and dispossession? (AKA the "they had it coming" thesis)
I'm happy enough for you to make your project on the treatment of Aboriginal women by their men. It would be an interesting historiographical exercise.
On the other hand...Your original topic is still valid, and so are my questions.
Here is a question from me. Is Windschuttle interested in the treatment of Aboriginal women by Europeans?
